The 8th China Energy Strategy International Forum themed at “Future Higher Education, Science and Technology Innovation and Energy Sustainable Development” was held at Cuigong Auditorium, China University of Petroleum (Beijing) on October 2nd. This forum attracted more than 300 people from colleges and universities, energy companies and research institutes at home and abroad. Principle of CUP (Beijing) Mr. Zhang Laibin and vice principle Mrs. Wu Xiaolin attended the forum and related activities.
The forum had three parts, separately hosted by Mrs. Wu Xiaolin, vice principle of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), Abdul Rahim Hashim, president of Malaysia University of Petroleum Science and Technology, and Mr. Ding Zixuan, president of Ruisheng Investment Co., Ltd.
Mr. Zhang Laibin, principle of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) made a speech about ‘Service, Support and Guidance: Future Energy Education Innovation Trend’. He said that he’s pleased to discuss the energy industry and energy education innovation and development with the university presidents and entrepreneurs from home and abroad in the occasion of the 60th anniversary of China University of Petroleum. He pointed out that the future energy education must be aimed at the development of energy business, and actively adapt, service, support and guide the development of energy industry. He analyzed the future develop trend of the energy industry and the challenges confronted with energy education, and elaborated the future innovation trend of energy education, and hoped that all the personnel could join hands and shoulder the mission of energy education, with deeper exchange and cooperation, reform and innovation, and solid work, making contributions to the development of energy industry and the society.
All guests participated congratulated on the 60th ceremony of China University of Petroleum, and made speeches around the theme of the Forum. He Jiankun, President Low Carbon Economy Institute of Tsinghua University, made an analysis about China energy development situation and strategy; Abdul Rahim Hashim, president of Malaysia University of Petroleum Science and Technology, expressed his views on the development status and prospects of world energy and effects of energy education; Ismail A. Tag, president of UAE Petroleum Institute; Anatoly B. Zolotukhin, vice president of Russian Gu bojin oil and gas University; Pedro Diez, vice president of UPC; Xihong Li, president of Sinopec Economic and Technology Institute; Chengzhu Xu, chairman of Schlumberger China; Wenwu Xia, chairman of Harding Shelton Petroleum Engineering and Technology (Beijing) Ltd.; and the leaders of UPM, Indonesia Bandung University of Technology, University of Alaska Fairbanks and Shell (China) and other units all expressed or stated views about the theme "Future Higher Education, Science and Technology Innovation and Energy Sustainable Development", and delivered opinions in different angles from universities, companies and research institutions about personnel training, technology application and industry development, unconventional oil and gas exploration, strategy cooperation, global energy situation and other aspects.
This forum was held by China University of Petroleum, and co-hosted by the Science and Technology Department of CUP, International Cooperation and Exchange Department and China Energy Strategy Research Institute. All deputies participated gave an extremely compliment on this forum, and considered it to be one of the most significant events in China energy field.
